Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri have expressed deep grief over the death of three people, including a woman from Ludhiana, in a road accident in Una district in Himachal Pradesh.
 
The accident occurred late Wednesday night. Two others were injured in the mishap, which took place in Tahliwal village of the Haroli Subdivision of the district.
 
According to the FIR registered by Una Police, three people were killed when their car collided with a truck around 11.45 pm near Tahliwal. Aman, a resident of Ajauli village and one of the survivors, stated in his complaint that he and three friends were travelling from Mehatpur to Tahliwal to celebrate the birthday of their friend Mayank, a resident of Mehatpur. The other two friends in the car were Taranjeet from Poona village and Abhimanyu from Dehlan village.
 
The FIR further stated that at Santoshgarh, Kiran, a resident of Ludhiana, took a lift in their car. Shortly afterwards, near Tahliwal, the vehicle rammed into a truck. In the collision, Mayank, Taranjeet, and Kiran lost their lives, while Aman and Abhimanyu suffered injuries.
 
Police have booked the truck driver, Jatinder Singh, a resident of Dhugge village in Haroli Subdivision, in connection with the accident.
 
The Chief Minister said the state government stands with the bereaved families in this hour of profound grief and directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
 
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri extended his condolences to the bereaved families and assured every possible help from the state government. Both leaders prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to the families to bear the irreparable loss.
